Major and Minor Changes Policy
Definitions and approval pathways for major and minor general education curriculum changes at Ferris State University.
Major changes
A major change to general education alters credit totals, competency areas, assessment protocols, or MTA alignment. Major changes require General Education Committee review, Faculty Senate approval, and Academic Affairs sign-off.
Minor changes
A minor change includes course attribute updates, syllabus template revisions, or assessment rubric clarifications that do not alter total credits or competency structure. Minor changes require committee review only.
